Terms of use

The terms for using PatternPlus

The short version: everything here is information about what crypto prices did in the past, never advice and never a promise. Leverage can wipe out the money you put in. You decide every trade and you carry its result. Paid plans are paid in crypto, start when the payment confirms and never renew by themselves. The full terms are below, and they are binding.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of pattern.plus ("PatternPlus", "we", "us", "our"). They cover everything we run under that name: the website at pattern.plus and its pages, the free API and the embeddable widget, our Telegram bot and the alerts it sends, our posts on social networks, accounts, the trade tracker and the paid plans (together, "the service").

By opening, using or paying for any part of the service you accept these terms and our privacy page, which is part of them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. If you use it for a company or another organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it, and "you" then means that organisation as well.

2. Who may use the service

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to enter a binding contract.
  • You may not use the service if you are named on, or owned or controlled by someone named on, a sanctions list of the United Nations, the European Union, the United Kingdom or the United States, or if you are in a country or region under comprehensive sanctions.
  • You are responsible for following the laws that apply to you. Some countries restrict or forbid trading crypto assets or leveraged crypto products, or forbid them for retail traders. Nothing in the service is an offer, a solicitation or an invitation to trade anything where that would be unlawful, and you may not use the service to break such a rule.

3. What the service is, and what it is not

The service publishes statistics: what the prices of crypto assets did after past situations and dated events like today's, counted from our own price history, together with tools to replay and explore those statistics and a public record of how our past posts and calls turned out. It is information and education.

  • It is not advice. Nothing in the service is financial, investment, trading, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing in it is a recommendation, personal or general, to buy, sell, hold or short any asset or to open, size or close any position.
  • It is not about you. We do not know your finances, goals, experience or appetite for risk, and nothing we publish takes them into account.
  • Our words are labels. "Play", "best play", "degen play", "call", "long", "short", "leverage", "target", "take profit", "potential", "liquidated", "proven" and similar words name what a statistic replays on past cases. They are not instructions and they say nothing certain about the future.
  • We are not a broker, an exchange, an investment adviser, a portfolio manager or a custodian. We never hold your money or your crypto, never place trades for you and never ask for your private keys or recovery phrase. Anyone who asks for them in our name is not us.
  • No fiduciary relationship or duty of care beyond what the law makes mandatory arises from your use of the service.

You make your own decisions and you alone carry their results. If you need advice, ask a professional licensed where you live.

4. The risks you accept

  • Crypto assets are very volatile. Their prices can fall to zero, trading in them can stop, and the businesses around them (exchanges, issuers, wallets, bridges) can fail, freeze withdrawals, be hacked or disappear with their users' money.
  • Leverage multiplies losses as well as gains. A small move against a leveraged position can liquidate it, and the whole margin is then lost. Depending on the venue you can lose more than your margin, pay funding while the position is open, be closed out by the venue's own systems, or be liquidated at a different price from the one we show, because each venue sets its own margin rules and liquidation price.
  • The past does not repeat on schedule. A pattern that held for years can stop working the day after you rely on it.
  • Only trade money you can afford to lose entirely.

5. How our numbers are made, and their limits

Hypothetical results. Every result we show, including "what a play made", "$1,000 a play", backtests, replays, the potential, the record of our posts and the results of the game, is hypothetical. These results were not achieved by real trading. They leave out trading costs, funding payments, slippage, taxes and the price you would really have got. They are worked out with rules applied after the fact to data that may later be corrected. No one should assume that any account will, or is likely to, achieve results like those shown: real results differ, sometimes by a lot, and can be losses where we show gains.

  • Our sources. The numbers come from public data that exchanges, aggregators and other providers publish (see sources). That data can be late, incomplete or wrong, and so can our handling of it. We correct errors we find and list corrections on the method page, but we do not promise that any number is accurate, complete or current.
  • Dated, not live. Most pages are rebuilt once a day and every number belongs to the date shown with it. Prices move after that date.
  • The record of our posts is scored by the rule printed on the History page: in at the 00:00 UTC close on the day the signal is detected, out at the target the post named on the first day our daily high or low reaches it, otherwise at the end of the post's hold, with a liquidation checked first. It uses our daily closes, highs and lows, not any venue's mark price. The stake shown per play is an illustration of the arithmetic, not a suggested size.
  • Estimates have error. Chances, ranges and liquidation shares are estimates from limited samples and carry statistical error, which can be large for a single coin.

6. Accounts

  • Give a real email address you control. Keep your password and your recovery code secret: anyone who has them can use your account, and you are responsible for what happens in it until you tell us it has been compromised.
  • One account is for one person. A paid account may not be shared, resold or used to pass paid content on to others.
  • You can delete your account at any time from your account page; what that removes is listed on the privacy page. Deleting an account does not by itself refund a plan, except as section 9 says.
  • We may refuse, suspend or close an account as section 19 sets out.

7. The free service, the free API and the widget

  • The free parts of the service are offered as they are, for as long as we choose to offer them.
  • The free API and the widget may be used under the conditions on that page, including its attribution and its request limits. We may change those conditions, limit an address or a key that strains the service, or end the API.
  • Some of the data behind our numbers comes from providers with their own terms, credited on the sources page. When you reuse data you are also bound by those terms; some do not allow commercial reuse.
  • You may not copy the service in bulk, by the API or by any other means, to build or feed a competing product or dataset.

8. Paid plans and payment

  • What you buy. Each plan includes what its card on the pricing page lists at the moment you pay. Items marked "being built" or "soon" are not part of what you buy until they are released; we may build them differently, later, or not at all.
  • Price. Prices are in US dollars. The payment page converts the price into the coin you choose at a rate it holds for a limited time; pay within that time or ask for new payment details.
  • How to pay. We accept the coins and networks the payment page lists (such as USDT, USDC and Bitcoin). Send the exact amount it shows, on the network it shows, to the address it shows. Your plan starts once our check finds the payment confirmed on its blockchain.
  • Mistakes on the chain. Blockchain payments cannot be reversed by us. A payment sent to the wrong address, on the wrong network, in the wrong coin, short of the amount or after the quoted time may be lost or may not start your plan. We may, at our discretion, help to recover or credit such a payment, less any cost of doing so, but we are not obliged to.
  • Network costs charged by a blockchain for sending a payment are yours.
  • No automatic renewal. A plan runs for the month or the year you paid for and then ends unless you pay again. We never charge you without a payment you send yourself.
  • Discounts. The waitlist offer (50% off the first year) and any other discount apply as stated where they are offered, once per person, to the email address they were given to, and cannot be combined unless that offer says so.
  • Taxes. Unless the payment page says otherwise, prices do not include any tax you may owe where you live, and you are responsible for it.
  • Price changes apply to periods paid for after the change, never to a period already paid.
  • Lawful funds. We may refuse, hold or return a payment that we reasonably believe comes from a sanctioned person or address or from crime, and we may ask for the information the law requires us to collect before we accept it.

9. Withdrawal, refunds and the end of a plan

  • Consumers in the EU, the EEA and the UK may withdraw from a plan within 14 days of paying without giving a reason. When you pay, you ask us to start your plan at once; if you then withdraw within the 14 days, we refund the price less the share for the days already provided.
  • If we end a paid plan early for reasons that are not your breach of these terms, or close the service, we refund the share of the price for the days left.
  • Otherwise payments are final and not refundable, except where the law where you live requires a refund.
  • How we refund. A refund is paid in the coin and on the network you paid with, as the same share of the amount of that coin you sent, to an address you give us, unless the law requires another method. It does not include network costs.
  • To withdraw or ask for a refund, write to [email protected] from your account's email address with the date and the transaction of your payment.

10. Alerts and messages

  • Alerts (in Telegram or by email) are sent on a best-effort basis. They can be late, repeated or missing, including because of Telegram, email providers, data sources or our own systems.
  • An exit alert compares your trade with past cases of its pattern. It is not a stop-loss, not an order and not an instruction to close anything, and we never act on your trades.
  • Do not rely on an alert to manage risk: watch your positions and set your own orders on your venue.
  • You can stop alerts at any time from your account page or by sending /stop to the bot.

11. What you add to the service

The trades you track, the coins you follow, your alert choices and anything else you enter stay yours. You let us store and process them to run the service for you, as the privacy page describes. Do not enter other people's personal data or anything you have no right to share.

12. Rules of use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for anything unlawful, including market manipulation, coordinated price schemes or misleading other traders;
  • present our numbers in a misleading way, alter them, or claim to be us, to speak for us or to be our partner when you are not;
  • scrape, crawl or download the service beyond what the API, robots.txt and normal browsing allow, or put a load on it that harms other users;
  • get around a login, a paywall, a request limit or any other control, or open accounts in bulk;
  • probe, scan or test the service for weaknesses without our written permission (if you find one, tell us at [email protected] and we will look at it), or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows;
  • resell, redistribute or publish paid content such as alerts or locked levels, or share a paid account;
  • upload malicious code, or harass or harm anyone through the service.

13. Our content and your licence to use it

  • The service, its text, charts, images, code, design and the PatternPlus name and marks belong to us or to those who licensed them to us.
  • We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence, which we can withdraw, to use the service for your own trading research. The free API comes with its own licence on its page.
  • You are welcome to share links to our public pages, and screenshots or short quotes of them, as long as you name PatternPlus, link to the page and do not alter or misrepresent what it shows.
  • Coin names, tickers and logos belong to their owners. Showing them implies no endorsement, partnership or opinion about the project.
  • If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without owing you anything.

14. Other services, partner links and YouTube

  • The service links to and works with services we do not run, such as exchanges, Telegram, X, YouTube and blockchain explorers. Their own terms and privacy rules apply there, and we are not responsible for them.
  • Partner links. Some links to exchanges and bots are partner links, marked as such: we may receive a reward when you sign up or trade through them. It never changes a number we show, and you are free to use those services without our links.
  • YouTube. Our videos are published on YouTube through the YouTube API Services. Watching them there is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy.

15. Changes, availability and the end of the service

We keep improving the service, so pages, tools, numbers, methods and plans change, and features can be added or removed. The service may be slow, late or unavailable at times, including when a nightly build fails or a data source stops answering. We may stop the service or any part of it; if that ends a paid plan early, section 9 applies.

16. No warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise and give no warranty, express or implied, that it is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, that it fits any purpose, or that any result shown can be achieved, and we exclude all warranties and conditions that the law would otherwise imply.

17. Limits on our liability

  • To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any trading or investment loss, liquidation, missed gain or profit, lost data or goodwill, or any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, however it arises, even if we were told it could happen.
  • To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event the claim is about, and 100 US dollars.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for deliberate deception or wilful misconduct, or under mandatory consumer law.

18. Your responsibility to us

To the extent the law allows, you will compensate us, and those who run the service with us, for claims, losses and reasonable legal costs that third parties bring against us because you broke these terms or the law, or infringed someone's rights, through the service.

19. Suspension and ending

  • You can stop using the service at any time.
  • We may suspend or close your access, with or without notice, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect the service, other users or us. If we close a paid account because you broke these terms, no refund is due except where the law requires one.
  • Sections 3 to 5, 9, 12, 13 and 16 to 22 continue to apply after your use ends.

20. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms; the date at the foot of this page shows the latest version. A change that materially affects a paid plan applies to a period already paid only if we announce it at least 14 days before, by email or on the service; if you then do not accept it, tell us before it applies and we refund the share of the price for the days left. Otherwise, using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

21. Law, disputes and time limits

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the country where the operator of pattern.plus is established, without regard to its rules on conflicts of law.
  • If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the courts there where those laws allow it.
  • Before bringing any formal claim, write to us at [email protected] and give us 30 days to try to settle it.
  • To the extent the law allows, claims are brought individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action, and any claim must be brought within one year after it arose.

22. General

  • Whole agreement. These terms, the privacy page and the descriptions of the plans you buy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
  • Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part applies as far as the law allows and the rest stays in force.
  • No waiver. If we do not enforce a term at once, we can still enforce it later.
  • Transfer. We may transfer these terms and the service to someone who takes over the service; you may not transfer your rights under them without our written consent.
  • Events beyond our control. We are not responsible for failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of hosting, networks, exchanges, data sources or blockchains, attacks, changes in the law or acts of authorities.
  • Notices. We contact you at your account's email address or on the service; you contact us at [email protected].
  • Language. These terms are written in English. If we publish a translation, the English text decides.

23. Contact

Questions about these terms, a withdrawal or a refund, a security report or anything else: [email protected].
